    Some New Iron Balusters near the Main Line in Philadelphia. This customer loved the look of the oak box newels with the oak handrail and the single diamond/double diamond square hammered iron balusters in oil rubbed bronze finish. She'd been looking for an iron baluster installer for a long time, and couldn't find anyone who could do the work. Luckily she kept looking, and found me. I'm Ron Hartman, and I've been a stair and rail contractor for 25 years. I transformed her foyer to her specifications. She absolutely loved it, and couldn't stop raving about it. I must say, that is nice to hear, when customers can't stop thanking you enough for a job well done. After removing the builder-grade junk rail, I installed the bottom oak plate, the posts, and then the rail. Iron Balusters in Garnet Valley PA. I removed the old contemporary "deck style" railing, and replaced it with this new system. This is over the post style, which is much easier on your hand while walking up and down your stair. It's also easier on the eye; it "flows", unlike the old deck style rail. I used twisted oak posts and twisted iron balusters to match, and some "S" accent balusters to set it off. New Box Newels and Handrail in Turnersville NJ

New Box Newels and Handrail in Turnersville NJ. Split level home needed an upgrade. Really nice people. All my customers are really nice people, but some are even more so. Like most of my jobs, I did most of this while they were working. Took the better part of three days to complete. I installed the nosing and capping, then the box newels, then the handrail. I left for a few days while homeowner painted and stained everything. I then came back and installed the balusters and fillet, (the very small pieces of square stock that "fills in" the gap between the square top balusters.) They had a little one on the way and needed a really safe really beautiful handrail. The dark stain on the handrail contrasts nicely with the lighter oak stair treads. The square balusters are in keeping with the vertical lines in the panels on the walls. Painting the box newels, again is in keeping with what's been done with the wall panels. Custom Stairs and Rails in Foxchase neighborhood of Northeast Philadelphia. Maybe the ugliest "BEFORE" stair and rail pictures ever. An apartment building on Rhawn Street had a fire last year, and suffered extensive damage. While they were re-habbing the building, they decided to re-do the stairs and rails like they'd been wanting to do for years, even though this staircase was unaffected by the fire, and they weren't required to replace it. But they're sure glad they did. What a difference. So much safer for the residents, and visitors, and children living there. And so much easier on the eyes. The architect drew up plans, I submitted them downtown and got the permit, the framers came in and re-framed all the well openings, the drywallers immediately followed them, and we delivered the 3 staircases the next day. I had 7 guys helping me that day, we had plenty of muscle, which you surely need with solid oak commercial size stairs. I then strung all the posts, rail, and balusters, and the painters came in right behind us and painted and stained everything. Carpet arrived a few days later, and the residents have their building back, much better than it was new, back in the sixties.

New Stairs and Handrail Margate-Longport

Here is a brand-new instant classic, new Stairs and Handrail in Margate-Longport. The customer here wanted over-sized, raised-panel, oak, Box Newel Posts installed on her new oak Staircase. She wanted something that would stand the test of time, and kids, and relatives, and friends, and neighbors, and in-laws, and pets, and teenagers, and parties, and holidays, and whoever else would be using her Stairway for the next 30 years. The over-sized posts are always a good choice if you're looking for extra sturdy handrail. The Charleston-style Handrail goes well with the Posts, and the Carolina-style Balusters go well with the Handrail. (Of course, that's just one mans' opinion)
The Handrail is 2 3/8" high, and 2 5/8" wide.
The Balusters are 1 3/4" wide at base, with a 3/4" top

Jan-Mar is historically slow, so you tend to get quicker service, just because there are less jobs on the schedule.
