Everything came apart fairly easily, and there wasn't much to fix underneath and no big surprises. The new capping went on easily and the newel posts and rail went just as planned. Once we installed the wood part, we left for a few days while homeowner stained the new rails himself and did a really good job. Actually better than some "professionals" I've seen over the years.
