New Circular Handrail Cherry Hill NJ

Refinished oak treads matching the new oak handrail

White balusters to match the painted risers and stringers

 Upstairs level radius rail

New painted balusters

Customer gets their dramatic entrance back better than original

Existing treads sanded down and re-stained

Radius rake rail descending down to volute

BEFORE: Existing volute with lots of damage

BEFORE: Maybe the dog got hungry... Very chewed up

BEFORE: Old rake height 4" too low for today's code standards

BEFORE: Level rail low as well, by 2"

BEFORE: More than 4" between balusters, another code violation

This customer wanted a New Circular Handrail for their newly purchased home in Cherry Hill NJ. The existing rail was badly damaged and looked like a dog may have chewed on it in addition to it being very loose. The original smaller balusters and posts contributed to the decline of the rigidity of the rail over time. The rail heights were too low and the spaces between balusters were too wide by today's code standards. Rake must be 34" high, level rails must be 36", and you cannot have a space bigger than 4" anywhere in the balustrade system. Given all these factors the homeowner decided to replace the rail, post, and balusters in addition to repairing and reinforcing the stair from underneath. Because it's an existing circular stair, we had to template the stair to be able to manufacture the rail and have it match the stair radius exactly. Ironically, I have a good working relationship with the stair company that built the original stair and they were able to match the rail to the stair perfectly. We took out the old and installed the new posts and rail, followed by the re-finisher who sanded down the treads and re-stained them as well as the rail and posts. Once he was done, I came back in and installed the balusters, and we were done. Start to finish, my work took about 4 days. So if your old circular handrail is falling apart or you fear your children falling down it, give Ron Hartman a call to schedule your FREE consultation ($250 value) so we can give you your New Circular Handrail whether you live in Cherry Hill NJ, Haddonfield, Moorestown, Mount Laurel, or any other surrounding towns.

Wood Handrail With Iron Balusters Cherry Hill NJ

Double Basket Iron Balusters Every Third Baluster

Two Double Twist Iron Balusters In Between Double Baskets

Twisted Oak Newel Posts Under Continuous Oak Handrail

Wall Mounted Wall Rail Connected To Main Rake Rail Via "S" Fitting

Another All-new Wood Handrail With Iron Balusters in Cherry Hill NJ. This was another rail that was badly done when the house was new, or rail was re-done years earlier, and the homeowners hated it. It was crooked, loose, not up to code, and made the homeowners fearful for their two little ones that will be running up and down those stairs very soon. So, we ripped it out and replaced it with the twisted newel posts, that go nicely with the twisted Iron Balusters they picked out. We installed new trim pieces on side of stair called decorative stair brackets and new molding under the treads, for that finishing touch. This took about three days to install, start to finish. So, if you're in need of that stair and/or handrail update, be sure to give me a call at 215-694-5046, or use email below, to schedule your FREE no-hassle consultation (a $250 value). Besides this home in Cherry Hill, we've just completed jobs in Haddonfield, Moorestown, Gibbsboro, Mt Laurel, Marlton, Medford, and Burlington, to name a few. I was reading a trade journal the other day, and it mentioned that the average stair/rail remodel will add $15,000.00 to the value of the average home. Which got me thinking, maybe I should raise my prices.....hmmm. Well, I haven't raised them yet, so be sure to give me a call soon before my accountant changes my mind. Whether it's a Wood Handrail with Iron Balusters, all wood rail, all-new staircase, or anything in between, we do it all, if it has anything to do with wood stairs or rails.

Install Wood Handrail Repair Wood Stair in Haddonfield NJ. Well, I must say, this stairway remodel job was a little unusual. The lady of the house informed she had already found the old newel posts she wanted installed, in a vintage woodworking warehouse somewhere in Philadelphia, (I didn't ask where, hush, hush.) She then told me she wanted the octagon balusters and newel posts with the oversized rail on top, that she selected from my favorite suppliers' catalog, to somewhat match the old rail and balusters she wanted installed on her back stair. Her and her lovely family decided, okay SHE decided, to renovate an old Victorian house off main street in Haddonfield, and the old school rails and posts would help keep the Victorian theme going. (Did I mention she works at the school??, no, not the old school, oh never mind... but I digress.) Working with the oversized, (HUGE), heavy, eight sided, walnut post was a bit of a challenge, but we managed to pull it off, much to the delight of said lady. She said she couldn't find anyone who would do the job for her. More than a few stair and rail  contractors stopped by and never came back. She was getting desperate, you could hear it in her voice. How could I say no? So, a few weeks later, her material was delivered and we proceeded with the installation. The upper turning on the balusters adds a nice touch as they stay in perfect line with the rail just above. She wasn't quite done with staining and painting at time of photos, but I had to share these with you. I'll update once everything is painted and stained.  If you're looking for a Handrail Installer to Repair your Wood Stair, or to replace, or Install Wood Handrail in your Haddonfield, Collingswood, or Haddon Heights home for you, don't hesitate to call/text Ron Hartman, your local specialist with 25 years experience with ALL KINDS of stair/rail situations, at 215-694-5046, or email him at 45stairman@gmail.com

Replace Handrail Haddonfield NJ

Replace your old Handrail in Haddonfield NJ. The new homeowners had all the floors resurfaced and stained and wanted the old rail replaced to match the floors. The original rail was too low, and too weak and shaky, and too ugly. There wasn't a lot to love about it. So, I raised the new rail to the correct heights...34" on the rake rail, and 36" on the level rail. New posts, new balusters, and new rail. The stair was in pretty good shape, structurally, so, they sanded them with the rest of the floors. We had to template the curve on the bottom two treads, so we could have the rail made to match exactly. If you're tired of your old, dilapidated staircase, or handrail, or both, give me a call. I've Replaced many of your neighbors' Handrails in Haddonfield NJ, but there are many more that still need my help. If you're one of them, don't hesitate to give me a call or text at 215-694-5046. Of course, I also Replace Handrails in all the surrounding towns as well, Collingswood, Haddon Heights, Cherry Hill, Westmont, Voorhees, Marlton, Mt Laurel, Moorestown, Maple ShadePennsauken, Medford, etc.

New Handrail Cherry Hill NJ

Here is a fine example of a New Handrail in Cherry Hill, NJ, with square top Wood Balusters with the classic Colonial  Oak Handrail on top. This customer is an architect, so he naturally wanted a little more input on design than your average homeowner, so he drew the post he wanted, and I gave it to my post turner/manufacturer, and he created the post based on the drawings and he now has his very own post style that no one else has. Very cool. He stained the rail and posts himself and painted the balusters, also. The normal process, is, I come in and remove the old rail, and install the new posts and handrail, then he stains and paints everything, then I come back in a week or so, and install the balusters. I do that to make it easier for the painter, because he doesn't have to stain around every baluster, saving him lots of time.

So, If you're in Cherry Hill, or Marlton, or Mt Laurel, or Moorestown, or Haddonfield, or the Mainline, or Richboro, or Newtown, or anywhere in between, give Ron a call, to schedule your FREE consultation, and learn about your Handrail and Staircase Replacement, or upgrade options.
